These are the minority people in the Southwestern China region. As there are all very high mountains in this part of China, historically, they lived quite separately from the majority of Chinese "Han" people, and hence form their own unique cultures and art. They have a lot of well known handicraft in this region, and the wax-dyed tapestry is one of them. The designs of tapestries and the way to make them are all passed down from generations ago.
